IIT-Kanpur offers a free online course on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles; Check details

JThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur is inviting applications for an online course titled Designing Fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). It will be hosted on the National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform, which is a joint initiative of IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

Things to know:

  1. This is an eight week course and is free.
  2. It will run from August 23 to October 15, 2021.
  3. The course is most suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students who have a basic knowledge of aerodynamics.
  4. Attendees will be introduced to various topics including fixed-wing UAVs, design parameters, performance and stability analysis, among others.
  5. The online lectures will be led by industry experts working in the aviation industry space.
  6. To better understand the courses, participants can refer to the sources and works mentioned on the official site.
  7. Although the course is free, candidates will have to pay Rs 1,000 to obtain a certificate.
  8. Certificates will only be granted if the candidate has an assignment score of 25% and an exam score of 75%.
  9. Applicants will only receive electronic certificates as no hard copies will be issued.
  10. The exam will take place on October 24, 2021.
