IBM Announces SkillsBuild Program for CBSE Schools Students, Free Online Artificial Intelligence Course Offered
IBM has invited CBSE schools to participate in its SkillsBuild initiative to benefit from the free online course on artificial intelligence
IBM is offering a free online course in artificial intelligence for students at CBSE schools above Class 8 as part of its IBM SkillsBuild for Students and Problem Solvers tournament. Schools that sign up for this initiative will receive an orientation, after which students will be offered an online course titled “Basics of Artificial Intelligence for All and Working in a Digital Artwork.” Teachers can also be part of this initiative and they should take courses called How to Become a Mentor, AI Foundations for Educators or Design Thinking.
After classes are over, students and teachers can form teams of up to 4 students and 1 teacher and submit their ideas for the Problem Solvers tournament. The top team from each school will be selected for a mentoring hackathon to develop their ideas and make final submissions. “The top 100 students in the program will have the opportunity to gain unique work experiences through micro-internships with IBM and its partners, and the top 100 teachers will be recognized at the LeadZ Teacher Awards with top teachers invited to present at 1M1B Youth Summit at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York in 2022,” the notification on the CBSE website reads.

The initiative was organized to enable students to be prepared for the future of work and to help teachers help students on this journey. “CBSE has partnered with IBM to offer a range of professional courses through the IBM SkillsBuild for Students platform, followed by micro-internship opportunities for students to get a taste of the workplace and the industry, helping to reduce the skills gap,” the official said. notification. - Participation in the program is free and applications must be submitted by October 20, 2021.
- Once the school has registered on the registration form, the IBM Implementation Partner will liaise with the school for next steps.
